Accessories
As part of the Lawman build I wanted to put together a representation of what some of the accessories would have been with the car, and what could have been. For the Lawman jacket if you look at various original photos you can see that they are wearing Anton brand jackets with the red/white/blue stripe. Finding an original jacket still in the package then getting the patches custom made and the name Al chain stitched in place seemed like the right thing to go with the car.
For the dog tags I was lucky enough to connect with Mark Milchak and Derek Hall who are both DoD contractors. Derek has original NOS dog tag blanks that were used in 1970 and the actual machine that was used to punch these out as well, so we have as close to original as possible. The thought here being that the Lawman did a tour of service during the early part of 1970 in Southeast Asia and the tag identifies the car and our respect to those who served. In a way the Lawman served as well.
The helmet was painted in the scheme of the car and has a Buco sticker on the back as they were one of the original sponsors as mentioned in the paperwork we have.
The fire extinguisher is a period correct fire extinguisher and looks nothing like those that are sold now. Dated from 1970 this has a metal bracket and handle which is unusual today as they all seem to be made of plastic. And for safety it’s a working functional piece.
All in the details…….
