Why the engine was rebuilt

Pictures here show the damage the Lawman engine had when it came to the shop…but…as luck would have it the engine block was hardly affected. The heads were damaged and the Hampton blower had metal framents and damage but the rest was salvageable. During the “autopsy” what was revealed was that some point the engine was apart in its life, and someone had installed the wrong camshaft that resulted in the valves hitting the pistons at high RPMs. Actually on all pistons the valves had been just slightly hitting but the drivers side front (number 5) was were everything went wrong and was the worst.
