Fuel Pumps

The Lawman operates on two fuel pumps. The first is a correct vintage Hilborn mechnical fuel pump that is mounted via a custom fuel pump extension housing so we have clearance of the blower belt. This fuel pump provides fuel to the mechanical fuel injection system with the bleed off or return going back to the fuel tank. That is why you see two outlet ports on the pump.
The second pump is a vintage NOS Stewart Warner fuel pump that will be operated from inside the Lawman via a aircraft style toggle switch that momentarily engages the pump. This is the same fuel pump that was used on the 65 Shelby R models. The Stewart Warner pumps were one of the best available fuel pumps of its time in the late 1960s. The purpose of this pump is simply supply fuel via a seperate line to the blower “hat” and get fuel into the intake so that starting is easy and painless. And besides….two fuel pumps are better than one.
