Metal car bumper on concrete surface.

Rear Bumper details

The rear bumper on the Lawman needed to be replaced so to keep that original low mileage look an NOS Ford bumper was used.  The patina and the way these bumpers were chromed is unique and not the same as what we see today – but more important the shape and the way they fit is nothing like any reproductions that are made.  The easiest way to identify an original bumper is by the stamping marks in the cutout above the license plate area as shown in the photos below.  More details on how to identify bumpers can be found here:   http://anghelrestorations.com/uploads/3/5/1/2/35122002/1969_1970_rear_bumper_id_v1.0.pdf

Also shown is the bumper brackets and the original hardware used to mount the bumper.  Note the head markings.  The original bumper brackets were dipped in paint and the nut inserts were added afterwards and are silver – a detail that can be seen after installed so we duplicated that here.
