Starter

The starter that was on the Lawman was not the correct original starter but a Motorcraft starter dated from 1972.  The correct starter shown here is now dated Sept 2 1969 and also has the aluminum starter solenoid heat shield that was added to all Boss429’s to hopefully keep heat away from the solenoid although hard to say if these really were effective.  Note that the starter itself is not completely painted black but the paint stops short of the nose to prevent any issues with grounding the unit to the engine block.
